I’m not sure where you went the most wrong, forsberg making under 6.5m, Jones taking under 10m, or Ethan bear being worth spencer knight. Yes maybe with flat cap we won’t be at 88-91m total cap, but agent Allan Walsh (take it with a grain of salt) said that he wouldn’t be surprised to see the cap getting to 100m after the TV deal kicks in.

Florida isn't going to think of moving Knight anytime within the next 5 seasons. Try again

This is 2022-23, I think this is the year of the TV deal in the US, and that will likely affect the cap a lot especially if it stays flat till this point. Like I said in my comment, player agent Allan Walsh said that he wouldn’t be surprised to see the cap go up to 100m after the TV deal.

I truly believe they would buy out McDonagh if they had to to keep Coleman at that price

You think the way Seth is progressing that he won’t get 8-9 per?

You may be correct with the salary but he is a player that I know Holland is really high on. Solid all around player that can do it all, really like him.

I mean, realistically the cap should be around 90m at this point. I see no reason why a team wouldn’t give him 10m at least. Hell if he was an RFA he’d probably get 12m LOL, a team like Ottawa would be in a prime position at this point, Vegas just paid 8.8m for a 30 year old Pietro, Jones is going to get more than 10m.

You think Knight is going to want to wait 7 years to even get a chance? Bob isn’t getting traded ever

The cap won't be at 90m$. Its in two years. The two dmen making more than 10$ right now were multiple time Norris winners and considered the best defensemen of their generation. Jones stastically regressed this year. Im sure he'll bounce back, but I highly doubt he'll sign north of 8

20 goal scorer excellent penalty killer high energy never out of position
    Probably 5-7 other GM’s
And remember he grew up in Dallas so Edmonton probably isn’t going to be his first choice in destinations
I’m not disrespecting the city of Edmonton it’s just a very cold and he grew up in a very warm climate

A buyout would average around $2million a year. I figure we'd just retain that amount on a trade so we don't have all the extra dead cap years on a buyout. I'd imagine McDonagh would be a sought after player at <$5 million (cough cough Boston).

My point on that one was there was no way in hell Coleman was signing for 3 x 3

I doubt he pulls in >$4million. But at $3 million I doubt he leaves Tampa.

Why couldn’t the cap be at 90m? With a massive TV deal, fans back, the league would basically be way ahead of where they are now with covid revenue loss. They’re going to want to spark interest and a huge cap raise that could do it. Also, Jones offensive stats may have regressed a bit, but his overall play was soooo good all year, same with his playoffs he was unreal. He’s a better pietro to me, and he’s younger.
