The reports that he was jaded by the negotiations and took a short deal to make it easier to move him.

Every player in the NHL is signed, so because he was "just" signed doesn't take off the the trade market. Gotta think Columbus needs a good centre back in any trade.

yeah alot of players might be unhappy to a degree with something but the season is starting so soon I highly doubt he gets moved honestly...
IF he got moved what do you think the price would be?
McCann is the best C PIT could give back (and yeah IK PIT doesn't really have the best pieces for a trade)...

I don’t see Pittsburgh as a viable candidate. Columbus needs high end potential offensive players. Columbus only moves him for futures (which Pittsburgh doesn’t have) if they decide to rebuild post 21-22

He requested a trade and that five mill of a contract is very appealing to a lot of teams

The theory is that he signed to help give the Jackets more time to get full value

I’d say it will likely be too rich for the pens. I’d think for the pens being a division rival would make it much more expensive than if a team like Anaheim traded for him. If pens want him it’d probably have to include Poulin, Legare, McCann, and probably MP in a package.

Apparently when he started talking to other teams about offer sheets is when he decided he wanted out. He might have talked to a team that he would much rather be a part of

Don Cherry said the secret of coaching was. " You have 24 players on the team. 8 of them hate your guts, 8 of of them love you and will do anything you ask without question, and the other 8 are unsure of their feelings towards you. Your job as coach is to keep the 8 "unsure" away from the 8 that hate your guts".
You are correct, on any team there are unhappy players....either with their coach or the GM. But once the season starts....it's all about the hockey.
