Nudge could be resigned as long as you give him term. Edmonton isn’t really prepared to give him as long of a contract as he would like because they are planning on resigning mcdavid and draisaitl in 4 years.

Cool. Call up Winnipeg when he signs that new contract. Until then, as a rental especially, Winnipeg wouldn't look at it.

If Klefbom returns next season and has figured out a long term solution to his arthritis problems then this is a definite win for the jets (assuming RNH comes with an extension). Klefbom is an excellent defenceman when healthy, and Hopkins is one hell of a Swiss Army knife top 6 forward.

However there is a strong possibility Klefbom has already played his last game and it would make 0 sense for the Jets to take on that risk. They can’t just give up a potential 50 goal scorer for a 28 year old RNH.

RNH is 27 to be fair. A trade and sign happens in the NHL too. RNH will want a contract when the old one expires so he will sign if the right number is negotiated all part of the trade of course.

Given the jets search for a 2nd line center I’d say they would consider the trade if RNH came with Term even without Klefbom. The Klefbom being part of the deal is a convenience to the oilers because his contract goes away. In a year when they go to resign some of the young D it’s actually a problem if he comes back.
