I think the highest priority for a 2021 draft pick, beyond the best player available, should be a right shot scoring winger.
Logan Brown has had a steady climb since being drafted, and there's no reason to think his ceiling has changed, and remains the anticipated 1C. Josh Norris had a great season in the AHL, but he still has a 2C ceiling. Mentioning Josh Norris's age can be countered with Logan Brown's size, and that it takes longer for big guys to develop, and Browns pretty big at 6'6". We'll know in the next season or two how this all pans out, but on paper, Brown still has the edge here.
Logan Brown has developed consistently (D+ years since he was drafted)
D+0 1.14 ppg OHL
D+1 1.50 ppg OHL
D+2 0.75 ppg AHL
D+3 1.12 ppg AHL
D+1 4 NHL games, 1 point (as a 19 yo)
D+2 2 NHL games, 0 points (as a 20 yo)
D+3 0.35 ppg NHL (23 games, 8 points as a 21 yo)
