Wrong. Wahlstrom had the 2nd highest expected goals % among isles forwards during his last call up. 95th percentile in shots in the AHL. He has a good chance of making the team this season.

The matrix numbers aren't the problem. He needs to get the eye of the tiger back like when he played for Team USA.

Kakko had to adjust to the North American rinks and north south playing style. After the break he came back with the eye of the tiger and played very well in the play in round. Unfortunately there's no matrix for reality situations like this. Have you ever seen the movie Rocky?

I guess the bar is low. He definitely did not play well in the play in round - a slight improvement from the regular season, but that’s not really saying much. He skates like Matt Martin.

I don’t think kakko will be a bust, I just stayed that his skating is awful and he had a brutal regular season, which is fact. I would say most people knowledgeable about hockey would agree
