Too much? Too little?
All I know is that if Rossi pans out, PLD, Ek, and Rossi wou make one helluva center group!
I considered using Rossi instead of Khuznutdinov in this trade, but that seemed like a monster overpay...

I've been thinking about a Fiala for PLD swap and ultimately I think I'd rather have Fiala but it would solve a lot of issues for us... Fiala was just downright dominant the last half of the season and in the play-in so I'd really rather not move him.

Starts with Rossi.

Even he might not be the guy when they can get better prospects from other teams. Reality is, Minnesota likely doesn't have the package to offer Columbus when there's gonna be a ton of teams trying to him Dubois.

Depends on what Columbus is looking for. If they want futures then we have a ton of intriguing assets for Columbus, especially forwards. I think they'd look for another young somewhat proven center though like a Necas or Thomas.

Why trade Fiala? The team hasn't had an offensive player like him since Gaborik and you trade him for a guy who might not be more than a solid 2C? Why not just wait and see what the team looks like with Fiala, Boldy, Kaprizov, Rossi, Beckman, Khusnutdinov, Khovanov, Addison, Menell, and Kahkonen in the mix? That's a lot of prospects and some might not make it but this is the best prospect pool this team has probably ever had.

I'm not arguing that Dubois is a good player, but let's apply some context: would you give up Fiala and Khusnutdinov for Duchene? People kept throwing insane packages on here and eventually Colorado got it and Ottawa definitely would take that trade back if they could.

I agree...but I would seriously consider this. Even if Rossi doesn’t cut it at center, he is pretty much can’t miss as a wing. With him, KK, Boldy, et al...I think the Wild can absorb the loss of Fiala to get their first bonafide #1 center in franchise history...and one they can plan around for 5-10 years.

IMO, your long list of forward prospects is more of an argument TO trade Fiala than it is an argument NOT to trade him for a player like Dubios.
As for Duchene...F no! I am not a fan!

Except not all those guys will pan out. If you're lucky, you get 2 top 6 centers between Rossi, Khusnutdinov, Khovanov, and Boldy (who is more likely to be a wing at this point). Split Kaprizov and Fiala to balance the lines and hope you get a couple wingers between Beckman, Boldy, and whoever doesn't work out as a center.

I don't really know much about Khusnutdinov, but in the little bit of research I've done, he seems like a very Pageau like player. That's a compliment because I really like Pageau, and Sens fans understand his value to a team, but his value isn't anywhere near the contract he got from the NYI.

I don't think Khusnutdinov is enough of an add to Fiala to get PLD. I don't think PLD is worth a lot ot the packages I've seen offered this last week, but he is a big, strong, legitimate 1C, that will get a little bit better still, since he was just 21 last season.

I wouldn’t trade fiala for pld. If fiala was moved I would only want either barzal, petterson or an extended barkov. Pld is more like a Good 2C or a mediocre 1c to me.

Columbus sure doesn't need more wingers, They need Center depth like Detroit and Minnesota. Fiala as the main piece would be a no go for Jarmo. Probably starts with Rossi++.
