Dylan Strome has signed a new contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.

I like this for both parties. Chicago doesn't fully know what Strome could be so a cheap bridge is good, while strome is betting on himself knowing he is going to be the 1c next year with lots of special teams time.

Win-win.

I think it’s a good deal, especially since he’s put up 89 points in 114 games since joining the Hawks. I’d like to see him be a little more consistent with his points, but there’s a good opportunity for that with Dach and Toews out for some time.

1 month ago was on the trade block than Kirby, Nylander, Toews get hurt and he gets his contract.

This is as fair as you can get. The Strome bros can be a bit unpredictable each season and it gives Chicago more time to figure out if he's worth top dollar in the long run.

That’s a good solid bridge deal, if he gets the ice times with Kane and Maybe Alex DeBrincat and produces at the PPG game level he did in 18-19. This would look that much better

I don't know, he regressed last year a bit. He's still young. Smart to only do 2 years. But I don't think his numbers equal 3 mil. That's close to 20 goal numbers and he has never hit that, and while he does have potential, he regressed.

There's a lot to unpack with Strome and this contract. As a Hawks center man he's scored 81 points in 98 games. .83 ppg. After his 2 week ankle injury last Jan...Bowman made the 2nd dumbest move he's ever made. Moved Strome to wing. He's not a winger. Now that Strome will be the #1C and #1PP...he's never been either and still .83ppg. I think he'll prove this to be a really good contract. BUT, like you're saying. He hasn't earned a big contract YET. Its time to put up or shut up for DStrome.
