nice trade. take out one of the prospects tho or replace them with somebody a little worse or lower the pick. overall tho its nice imo.

i dont think Columbus needs both Honka and Pesce. Replace Honka with Gunler or Ponomarev

I feel like Columbus needs to get a higher end offensive player or prospect back over getting a solid dman like Pesce. I know they play that trap 'em up style, but the extreme lack of depth that this leaves them up the middle would be devastating. Domi IS NOT a 2C, no matter how badly he wants to do it.

Or would need both of them. Seen posts on here that the Habs would need Danault with Suzuki or KK, thats more value then Necas and Pesce

I guess that depends on whether Danault was to be extended or not...IMO, Necas+Pesce for a bunch of years is more valuable that 1 year of Danault+ Suzuki or KK, mainly because Danault likely walks after the season, leaving Columbus in that same situation as they've been in over the past handful of years with their FA's...

I'm genuinely curious about the main factor for the continued exodus from Columbus. Is it Torts? The market? Do they not want to open the wallet?

I mean, I'm not a Jackets fan, but I was pretty happy for them when they didn't blow the bank to re-sign Bob. I just don't know how they can expect to grow their dwindling fan base when they continue to lose their "stars". IMO, if they can't convince PLD to change his mind, they better start kicking the tires on a Seth Jones trade too, because he ain't going to stay either.

Heck, Vegas was taking $hit from their fans a few weeks ago for moving players too often, and they're out there getting better with every trade...

If he sticks to his guns then ya, they need to approach Jones and trade him in the same off season. Need to move on quick so you can come back faster and moving those two pieces may mean you lose the following season but your young core moving forward could have some absolute studs in it.

If I'm Columbus GM I'm not accepting the only big piece for PLD as Pesce. Pesce, Necas for PLD is closer to the return would be, not Pesce and B assets.

Look at what is being asked of Habs fans on this site for PLD, Danault Caufield and a 1st. This isnt even close to that offer.
