Matthew's is so much better than Dubois and I belive the value between Sandin and Jones is easily close enough to compensate

This would be a blockbuster shift in direction for both teams. I’d really think the Leaf fans cannot let go of AM but I’d do this deal. PLD for Samdin no brainer for Leafs.

PLD is a #1 center and Jones is a Top 10 Defensemen in the league, Toronto gets stud B-liner and a stud center. It fix's their defenses problems and it doesn't leave a huge hole in their offense.

going from Matthews-Tavares and Rielly-Brodie to Tavares-Dubois + Rielly-Jones seems the better scenario. It greatly improve their defense which has been relying on Morgan Rielly and gives him less work a with a guy like Seth Jones, one of the most underrated D-man in the league.

Matthews is right there with MacKinnon and the Leafs have 3 top pairing defenceman. They also improved their depth and their entire defensive system was very much improved under Keefe. So keep drinking

He isn't underrated. He's fairly rated. Jones is terrific no doubt but it's clear by this discussion that Matthews is very much underrated. He is so much better than PDL. There are 2 players I think you can make an honest unbias arguement are better than Matthews, McDavid and MacKinnon. And Matthews did much better his first 4 seasons than MacKinnon did so I think Matthews could surpass him as well. Hard pass.

Stone is the best defensive winger because he is a take away machine. Matthews had more take aways than Stone last year and is a one dimensional player still. Group thought drives opinions and reality doesn't matter.

I wouldn't do this trade. Sandin is too good a prospect considering Jones can walk in 2 years. I'd give Dermott and Matthews for Dubois and Jones.

Matthews is worth more than both Dubois and Jones. He's the best 5v5 goal scorer since entering the league. You don't trade a player like Auston Matthews, but in fantasy it would take a lot more.

I'm taking Werenski over Jones. I swear people on this website think Jones can walk on water the way he's talked about.

Remove Jones and Matthews, add in Nylander, and the Leafs easily accept

I don’t share your opinion on jones and down grading from Matthews to pld is basically a hole. Toronto’s defence is just fine.

Muzzin is underrated and if Brodie can continue his great play from last year g TT he leafs defence will be solid.
