Not a detriot fan but i think Detriot Declines. Larkin is the face of their franchise. PLD may want a change of scenery but Larkin does not

Seeing a common theme here, but what does CBJ have to add to make this go through?

I would love to see the Jackets keep Dubois.
Unfortunately, he will probably only become more of a problem as time goes on.
I do have a problem with Jarmo low-balling him like he did.
The guy has been just what this team has needed for 15 years.
He hasn't missed a stinking game, and brings it every shift.
So they go out and trade for Domi, and pay him $5.3M x 2 years, and only give Dubois $5M x 2??? I mean really???

At this point, there would be so many suitors for Dubois.
And the trades I've seen so far on this site are ridiculous.

If there is no mending the relationship...I would love to see a one for one trade Dubois for a Larkin, Barkov, or Barzal type player.

I agree, I think it’s in CBJ’s best interests to keep Dubois but yeah I’m worried that the situation may just become cancerous over time

Nah he's the face of Detroit. I'd say the value is close but Larkin won't get traded unless its unresistable

Detroit declines. Larkin is borderline untouchable and a team would have to MASSIVELY overpay for him. Werenski for Larkin, maybe.

I just dont see it, Detroit needs another center on top of Larkin so its tough to move him and move the needle at all.

Yeah, the more I read through the comments the more I realize how untouchable Larkin is, he is they’re best player and he will not get traded

I think CBJ adds a bit. Larkin is really good and has proven himself a bit more than Dubois. But Dubois is an excellent fit for Detroit's youth movement, and Larkin would be perfect under Tortorella imo.

It's a nice idea, but Larkin has spent his entire life in Michigan: he is from Waterford Township, played at the USNTDP Juniors (in Plymoth, MI), played at the University of Michigan and played for the Red Wings farm team in Grand Rapids before playing for the Detroit Red Wings. He's a hometown star, and I doubt that both they'll want to move on from him or that he'll want to leave.

Nothing, I don't see any realistic situation where Detroit changes the face of their franchise

The odds of Detroit winning the Stanley Cup this season are far better than them trading Larkin.

I agree a majority of the PLD trades have been pretty bad so far.

Larkin is playing for his home town team and he is the corner stone of their rebuild. So it's not about the value. Detroit likes all the similarities to Yzerman that Larkin has.
