Terrible trade, Dermott is already better than Manson, Liljegren will be way better and a 1st and Engvall are more valuable to the Leafs than Manson. Manson is literally a bottom pair defenceman. He's Bogosian but makes over 4 million. I wouldn't want him at half price. B

Typical Leafs fan, wildly over valuing prospects. Remember when Bracco and Tymashov were worth 2nd's? both gone for nothing. When losing Leipsic was the end of the world? Engvall is a 4th liner at absolute best. Dermott is a 5-6 D guy with a very slim chance of becoming a 4. Liljgren will never succeed in TO maybe elsewhere he becomes a serviceable lower pair D man but I can't see it.

I can't decide who says no here. But I think if TOR is really going to send it for a Cup, both teams would/should do this.

This isn’t enough for the Ducks to move Manson regardless how you view him value wise. He’s too important to the team and too important to a GM that thinks his team is better than it is

As much as I love my esteemed colleague @Salzy and respect his opinion, I would take this deal. Among other things, it solves our expansion draft conundrum and adds some defensive depth right away (pun intended) because both incoming Leafs can play that side. We excel at drafting late in the first round (Jones, Rakell, Steel) so I don't see that as an objection.

Manson has been a plus player year after year up until the whole team regressed two years ago. I think with RS and 2 full seasons it’s definitely worth it. Liljegrin is B-B+ prospect. That first goes a long way too. It all depends on if the Ducks want him around after his deal expires.

What is Jake Bean? Because from what everyone seems to say on this site, he's an A prospect and Liljegren had an identical season last year in the AHL and is a year younger. Keep Manson he's getting old and declining.
