its weird that Lou didnt learn from the last time he did it. Its literally the Toronto contract minus a mill. By year 2 it did not look good for us and we moved him for nothing. Hava a feeling were gonna see a repeat in 2 years

Lol I’m praying we can get cizikas on a 2.5 x 3 contract. Clutterbuck lost feeling in 3 of his fingers from his injury last season, who knows how much longer he’ll play

Lou isn’t JBB Islanders aren’t Tampa Bay players don’t sign on the cheap to stay on the Island like they do to stay in the Bay

The hickey deal was fine at the time. The komarov deal was a little too much and too long at the time but it was fine. The martin deal is fine. The problem is when you start adding all these cap and term numbers together you get into an impossible situation in a flat cap world. Lou has a lot of attributes but cap management is not one of them. He also does not care about the long term implications, he has very limited time left in the league

Totally agree. If we didn't sign Martin, we'd have to skate someone else, someone who'd probably make around .9 aav for his cap hit. Meaning, this trade really just costs up .6 aav. And this contract would be very easy to bury or buy out. This isn't another Ladd contract, this isn't even a Komarov contract. It's a contract that lets us keep a locker room favorite around for the ever-shortening window for a Cup run. And if this contract turns out bad, we bury him and it's a weird little footnote.

Would love to remain calm and dont really mind the martin contract so much. But im starting to get a really bad feeling about the barzy lou relationship.
