I wouldn't say Tomasino was considered a star player coming into this tourney. He was Canada's 13th forward and only really got a chance once Dach got injured -- and he ran with it. He's had an awesome tourney so far. Excited to see what he can do in the NHL if given a chance this season.

The only point I'd make regarding Tomasino is that he's not seen as a star because he plays for Canada. Put him on the US team, or certainly any other team, and he absolutely would have been one of the star players. He's a very exciting prospect.

to be disappointing one would have had to have had great expectations. Everyone called out his knocks before the draft. But he got built up anyway. They tried so hard to make him more than he is, but the WJC really exposed him for what he is two years in a row. Slow as hell, low skill, 0 physical play. He's a bust in the making

Topi Niemela for one, kid was even recognized by eliteprospects as one of if not the best RD of the WJC. Kid was a monster at puck possession, defensive plays and offense. With some work we got our new 2-way Dman partner for Sandin in 3-4 years
