Trade doesn’t make much sense Gourde waives NTC for high tax California for a rebuild instead of the no tax Florida where he can win the cup and his family is established.

Easy pass from the Ducks, Keslers deal will be insured to 80% they arent even saving money when you factor that in and downgrading massively from Rakell to Gourde

Considering the team lost 11mil last year when it won the cup, they seem to be in a rush to bankruptcy, when you look at them taking on more "dead monies".

Hard to believe that winning a championship results in an operating loss of 11mil, (especially given that TB franchise doesn't have the worth or revenue ability of others), but its hard to imagine.

(And I know that cap hits aren't often actual salary, but at some point a business has to make money, regardless of success.

½ the teams lost money. Tampa lost 8.3 million. The owner bought the team 10 years ago for 100 million, It is worth 470 million. The loss will offset other profitable busines. The owner is in winning over profit unusual but glad he is here. The LTIR is mostly paid by insurance.
