I say Lafreniere + for Eichel. Cause Eichel is at the level now that a perfect developed Lafreniere will get to in maybe 6 years

The value is fine, but Detroit is not in a place to make that trade. It doesn't fit with the rebuild. Hutton is garbage and Ristolainen doesn't move the needle enough to justify adding to our roster.

Ppl are crazy on this site, Zibanejad extended plus a small sweetener should get it done. What other team would be willing to part with a top 10 center under 30?

Pretty sure he’s a rags fan that only made the det trade
to open up spots for the NYR-Eichel deal that will never happen

Most if they’re getting a top ten center under 25

First, he’s not extended. Second, he’s had one season better then Eichel. Third, his extension will be close to Eichel’s. Four he’s 28 vs 24. No a small add doesn’t get it done.

So mcdavid, matthews, mackinnon, point. Who on this list will be traded with a second overall pick for eichel? Not one.

List is from nhl.com, I can go further back on it and say would Carolina trade Aho and svech for eichel? Not on a million years.

Didn’t say that’s what it would cost. Idrk what it would tbh, I feel like players like Eichel, McDavid, Matthews, etc. are untouchable in this day and age. Enormous trades like that just don’t happen in hockey anymore to players that young, so it’s super hard to gauge value since there’s no trade to rly base it off of

Well yeah that’s why I said extended would be part of it... and odds are he will have another great year, if he gets anywhere close to his 6th points per game and top 2 goals per game forget about it, you ain’t getting kakko as well. One thing ppl are forgetting is that eichel has a nmc and will want to go to a contender as the only reason it’s been rumored he wants a trade is for a lack of winning. Doubt he agrees to go to a rebuilding team. NYR are in the perfect position AND they can afford him. I’m only gonna say this once, THE ONLY WAY HE GETS TRADED IS IF HE WANTS OUT. I doubt any team comes close to offering Zibanejad alone let alone with the former second overall pick. Either Buffalo takes the best deal or they have an unhappy eichel for the remainder of his contract.

No, saying it’ll take laf 6 years to get to where eichel is now. He’s in a much better situation than eichel was dealt.

I’d have to think ab it more but he’s prob in the 5-7 range for me. I do think he’s got a chance to rise up a lot of peoples top 10 this season tho

But MacKinnon was in a great position and he took ⁶ years to reach a ppg

Personally I would say 6, 7 if you include draisaitl.
Mcdavid, mackinnon, matthews, Crosby, Bergeron. Zib clocks in around 8 after eichel, malkin. Point and zib I view really close but I think point has benefited from being with kucherov more than zibanejad benefits from panarin.

It’s only NYR fans that keep making these. And I’m not 100% on the rules, but I don’t think Zib can sign an extension more then a year out of his contract remaining (very well could be wrong). Either way, this trade is done when Zib is 29 and Eichel is 25 according to the poster, and Eichel is still getting better, along with his team around him still getting better. If the Sabres trade him, doubt Zib would be the return due to age. Because if Buffalo is trading Eichel, it’s a rebuild correct? They aren’t gonna spin their wheels with adding Zib while giving to Eichel. That’s just bad asset management. So yeah, I think Buf will keep Eichel (and btw, that NMC kicks in in two years, so this desperate play with a year left before that kicks in is moot and Buf can trade him anywhere they please)
