Created by: deys3232

Initial Creation Date: Nov. 29, 2020
Published: Jan. 6, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Montreal commits to Suzuki and Kotkaniemi full time as the 1 and 2Cs

Bergevin doesnt think he can bring back Danault

Vegas capitalizes and brings in an elite defensive centre who can be a 1A to Karlsson's 1B while also shedding cap

That top line is probably the most effective line in the league

Danault signs a 5 year 5 million dollar contract to stay in Vegas

You're going to tell me that top line is better than Boston's when healthy? I like the optimism, but no.

Montreal doesn't need wingers and is over the cap by about 2.5 mil now, though with that massive overpayment they still consider

When healthy Boston's top line is probably better, but they arent healthy right now.
Pac-Stephenson-Stone was a top 3 line in the league at generating chances and playing great defense. You are replacing Stephenson with a great playdriver and defensive forward. Should be an upgrade

Idk maybe Bergevin shouldntve signed Edmundson to that deal. The blueline didnt need him, and even if they did, they should have given him like 1 year 1 million

Edmunson is worth the money he got paid and he helps solidify that left side a lot, what we don't need is another top 6 winger

No he isnt lol. Hes a 7th defenseman. Chiarot, Kulak and Mete are all better than him, so is Romanov

He is not good at anything. He is not better than Mete or Kulak. Probably wont be better than Romanov (havent seen him play in the NHL to gauge properly)

Edmunson is a decent point getter an helps bring that physicality that we needed

His defense is not good. Hie gets points, but that was because of Carolina's system/playing with Pietrangelo

The Habs already had physicality

I'm gonna jump into the conversation here and say that IMO you'll regret that contract by next year. Bergevin's worst move of the offseason by far.

Literally everyone regretted the Edmundson contract the moment it was signed. Waiting a year might make it easier to stomach, but it’s not like his contract can get any worse.

Montreal isn’t moving Danault. We don’t want picks, and Bergevin obviously isn’t going to make a move that makes the team worse at all.

That line has a fairly small sample size to work with

I think that is a major reason why they went forward with trading Stastny. I personally dont entirely trust Stephenson as a 2C and dont think Glass is ready either. I think we may see a situation where Marchessault is moved to a full time center job for a while
