Really doesn't make sense for both sides.

The pick swapping is confusing at best, and Edmonton's slated to run with Turris as their #3C. Acquiring Staal would only occur if Edmonton wasn't satisfied with Turris.

Edmonton trading Lavoie for a rental is also a very foolish move. Edmonton's hard up for wingers at the NHL level but has a couple quality prospects that could make the jump: unless its for a top-six winger with years of team control, there's no way they should seriously consider moving Lavoie.
