i would sign a cheaper goalie and keep hyman. less money slightly for dougie since he shouldn't get more than pietrangelo and hometown discount. don't think I would want koivu as 3C. also I think u forgot dermott

If you retain a bit on Marner or take Stralman as a cap dump this could work.

NSH offers a 5th, if you stop trying to trade Kerfoot to them.

Leafs do that first trade. Nashville, maybe.
Leafs say no on the second trade. MAYBE Marner plus a small add for Huberdeau. But 2 1sts and a 2nd? No way.
Huge pass from the leafs on that last trade. Hyman is a huge part of this team. For that matter I don't even think the kings accept anyway.

Marner is younger and has done a lot more than Huberdeau did in the same age years. Regardless of what the trolls on here say, any smart GM will be thrilled to add a 23 year old 90+ point winger. He hasn't even entered his prime yet! This whole mentality that Marner is worthless because of his contract is utter nonsense.

I agree. Some people go as far as to say Nylander is worth more than Marner due to cap hit. It's stupid in my opinion. The only reason that the leafs would want Huberdeau over Marner is for cap hit. Otherwise, he's not an upgrade.

I think Nylander is criminally underrated by most and really hope he learns to add an element of urgency to his game. If he does that, his skill could take him to unreal Heights but that is a different story all together. Marner is an elite playmaker and is only 23 and already has a 90 point season and would have come close last season had he played a full 82 games. Those are incredibly rare and every team wants them.

Yes, I'd say he's a top 5 right wing in the nhl.

I'm curious why you think NSH says maybe. With Sissons, Haula, Jarnkrok, Cousins, Richardson, Tomasino, Pitlick, and Kunin they're not exactly starving for 3rd line center options.

I don't know. If just thinking Nashville could use another top 6 winger, which Kerfoot could be for them (he's really a better winger than Centre).

He might be better on the wing, but he's still a far cry from a top 6 player.

Except he's not a far cry from a top 6 player, he's produced top 6 numbers when ever he's played top 6 - he's not a defensive liability in a top 6 as well

Technically he's very valuable at a salary remaining of 700k for the season - 700k 90pts show me better value
