Ho-Sang Hickey and a 2nd

Created by: Apollo2195

Initial Creation Date: Jan. 6, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
In exchange for the Hickey Cap relief, LA gets a 2nd Rounder this year and a flyer on Josh Ho-Sang to add extra youth and skill to LA’s offense. The real piece to some will be the second rounder but some people swear that Ho-Sang is a good player and just not given a chance on LI. I feel LA would be a nice landing spot for Ho-Sang. Also Hickey probably gets into some games on the left side for LA this season even though he’s the player being dumped in this trade. The retention makes up for the second year of Hickeys contract if he doesn’t help LA this year. The 1.75Mil against the cap shouldn’t hinder LA during their Re-Tool.

That's a very high price to pay to dump Hickey

I'm not really interested, but I wouldn't be mad if it happened. I'd want more than a 2nd and Ho Sang though because Ho Sang doesn't really hold any value.

That would solve all of NYI's cap problems and they could afford to sign Barzal 10x8.

I think NJD would be a better trade partner for Hickey and Ho Sang. There's no a whole lot of room for them in the Kings lineup.

Realistically the second rounder is the value (Similar to the Mark Stall/Detroit Trade) The only difference is Hickey has two years, but is a lot cheaper and arguably a more useful Dman than Stall at this point of their careers. Ho-Sang is the throw in, because, (A) I want to see him get a chance and I think LA would give him one and (B) he hold more value than a Low around pick because of the skills he does possess.

I agree, and during the Summer wanted the Isles and Devils to become trade partners for a lot of reasons. But the way the divisions are and not having Wild Card playoff spots I don’t think we will see very many trades between teams in the same division until the deadline when teams are out of playoff contention.

Fair enough. I like NJD more as a trade partner for Hickey and Ho Sang. I think they'd fit great over there.

I agree with Ho-Sang not holding much trade value, but Anthony Stewart (not that I agree with everything he says) thinks he deserves to be an NHLer.

Maybe, just maybe there's at least one GM out there that feels the same way he does.
