ngl I'd rather keep 2 solid 2 way players in kerfoot/engvall, in addition to all those prospects and picks

kerfoot is a great, chippy 2way centre and engvall, even tho his production sucked, was really good defensively and also happens to be like 6'5"

Ummm, ok. I know Laine gets overvalued by some people, but rather keeping that sub-par group of players and not getting Laine, is just plain wrong.

I’m sure you’ll tell me that I’m wrong. But you are wrong.

I'm sure even with this lopsided trade that the Leafs would still manage to get knocked out in the first round as a bubble team.

we don't need a sniping forward rental who can't play defence lmao

role players like kerf/engvall, in addition to the billion other assets are of a lot more use to us imo. laine is a good player, terrible fit for the leafs.

Rental? He has 4 years of team control.
The defensive struggles are overstated. He has improved dramatically since he entered the league.

Also, wasn’t Engvall buried in the minors this year?

Agree to disagree then. Both teams say no, apparently.

well the leafs certainly wouldn't be able to keep him, we'd have no cap space lol, so it's a rental basically.

Also engvall is with the team, he's waiver exempt so he won't play every night but he's a valuable defensive 4th liner, and the coach likes him

Not sure Laine and his declining numbers in the last two years plus zero playoff round wins in the past two seasons, helps the Laine that much this season, or in the future.
