I can understand being frustrated that your 1G is deciding not to play, but the amount of grief he received about wanting to be home with his family (especially during a pandemic) was ridiculous.

100% people think like that, unfortunately. People seem to forget that athletes are humans as well and have this notion that they "owe" us something.

Rask has been a lightning rod in Boston for years. Its actually funny because they say we'll never win a cup with Rask, but were upset when he opted out. Funny they got what they wanted, saw the results and still continue to ride him.

His daughter had a medical emergency he said. Around the time (maybe the night before idk the exacts); Rask said there was an ambulance called for his daughter I believe (or she went to the hospital either or). He spoke with Sweeney and left shortly after.

[This is NOT speculation, just paraphrasing - Rasks words of recent]

Oh I know why he opted out and your right. I just wasn't sure the poster did because of the comment that he should have opted out in the first place made no sense.

Those people are clowns that I wish nothing but the worst for in life and many of them would complain about Rask if he cured cancer.

What? It was a, say it with me, e-mer-gen-cy. An ambulance was called. Is he supposed to whip out his crystal ball and read the future?

Those were the same people that bought the golfing rumor about Rask hook, line and sinker. They are without a doubt the dumbest section of the fanbase. They are the clowns that took this:

“Well to be honest with you, it doesn’t really feel like playoff hockey out there,” Rask said. “There’s no fans, so it’s kind of like playing an exhibition game. … It’s definitely not a playoff atmosphere out there.”

and turned it into

"Rask doesn't want to play in the bubble"

I knew a lot of people that were saying halak could carry this team, and even some that had more confidence in him than rask. Haven’t heard that take since halak soiled himself in the playoffs.
