Trade deadline options

Created by: Pasta88bruins
Team: 2020-21 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 7, 2021
Published: Jan. 7, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I’m not saying all these trades can happen just 1 or 2 and only if the Bruins are actually a playoff team by the deadline. Also I’m probably going to under value all the trades in what the bruins give up.
Also all the players will be put on the IR just because there will be about 5 trades and too many players to put into a spot.
Also most of the players will be rentals only because of Seattle.
Trades
1.
BOS
  1. Murray, Ryan ($1,800,000 retained)
NJD
  1. Senyshyn, Zach
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (BOS)
  3. 2022 6th round pick (BOS)
2.
BOS
  1. Foligno, Marcus ($1,250,000 retained)
MIN
  1. Kuhlman, Karson
  2. 2021 4th round pick (BOS)
  3. 2022 4th round pick (BOS)
3.
BOS
  1. Demers, Jason ($1,800,000 retained)
ARI
  1. 2021 7th round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
This deal would be the same as the Murray deal just without the 6th
4.
CHI
  1. 2021 5th round pick (BOS)
  2. 2021 7th round pick (TOR)
5.
SJS
  1. 2021 6th round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
Picks used from Soderberg and other deals would be used to get one of these 2 likely not both

Huge undervalue on foligno who gets selke votes. Yea that’ll be more than a nothing burger and 2 4ths. Especially with retained salary

I already said it’s an undervalue just for the idea of getting Foligno

I don't think retained salary is an issue, I think that's going to be standard for expiring contracts this year and probably next. But yeah a nothing prospect and two 4ths isn't going to get it done. I mean, if that's the absolute best offer for Foligno, I still think Guerin should take it, because I don't think Foligno needs to be back next season, but I would expect a little better value in a deadline deal for him.

I also really don't understand the trend on this site where people make these kinds of threads knowing they're undervaluing players because they just want to see what their own roster could look like. What are we supposed to do with that? How do you expect actual discussion to take place when you do that?

I said in the disruption that I had undervalued trades just to put the idea of the bruins picking up the player the trades I put in are a very rough starter to an actual deal

Yeah, I get that, I added on to my post to address it. I don't know what you're expecting other teams fans to come in and say.

"Oh yeah, Bruins look good if they can make some these one-sided deals happen. Cool."

I’m expecting them to read that I said it’s undervalued and not complain about value and maybe either give a reason why that player won’t get traded or what the players value is

Okay cool, so Foligno would probably get something like a 3rd+4th/5th/6th. There's very little chance we'd get a player like the one you included in a return. He could also return up to a 2nd if enough GMs want him and a bidding war ensues.

That’s fair I added Khulman because I feel he’s a decent 4th liner just doesn’t fit on the bruins deep RW and he could just slot into Floginos spot giving the bruins an upgrade and the wild a downgrade and picks

The Wild's issue is that we have plenty of guys who could slot into that bottom six spot. One thing that lends credence to your idea is if Guerin sells off Bonino, Bjugstad, Johansson AND Foligno, then we might need some warm bodies back to fill some holes. So it's not a preposterous idea in that situation, but we would still most likely be looking for at least a 3rd coming back for Foligno.

I can see that happening I undervalued the deals because I was putting most of my ideas on here and I used the third on Murray.

So my opinion on the Foligno trade is this. I don't think the Wild will willingly trade Foligno unless they have a handshake agreement to bring him back in the offseason. And with that understanding your trade offer isn't that bad but if the Wild are willing to move on from him then it's a lot more as I think you realize.

Sharks will get MUCH better than a measly late sixth for Nieto. He's an excellent PKer. See what we got for Goodrow last year? It will cost a 2nd to get Nieto.

2nd is a lot for a guy anyone could have had in the off-season, 4th maybe a 3rd but not a 2nd.
That being said if we’re out of the playoffs I’m wondering if we trade Marleau to a contender and allow him to break the record for games played NOT in San Jose?
Nieto will cost a 3/5th depending on his season.

1. That’s way too much for him lmao
2. It says in the description and in the trade details that it’s an undervalue
