Description

These three teams I believe are the only teams that have legit shot of landing Dubois. Each team has players that would interest the Jackets and be able to fill the holes.

The Winnipeg deal has been put on here many times and from a value standpoint it is even. However, not sure Dubois wants to stay long term in Winnipeg as it would be counter productive to his request to be in a bigger city.

Ottawa trade would be steep but for them getting Dubois who still has four years of team would be huge but I think this would be the package from Ottawa that would make it work. White would fill a roster spot and Norris could be an attractive future center.

The Montreal trade is the most likely of the trades. It fits what Dubois is looking for and he would right at home in Montreal. The package would be very appealing to the Jackets as they would get Danault who would be a perfect 2C and is defensively sound which would be perfect for Torts who would increase his ice time and be favored in matchup situations. Caufield would be the real jewel to this trade as the Jackets get a stud winger who will be NHL ready sooner than later.

Thats too much from MTL... Maybe if Dubois was an established 70 pts C but he's only had one season over 60 pts (i know hes 22). What Im trying to say is that giving up Danault extended (28 yo) and whos a 50pts+ elite defensive C who will be loved by his coach, Caufield who's got great chances of becoming a 30 goals/60pts+ kinda guy and Struble who's honestly the most underrated prospect that we have (the kid's got it all tbh), simply isnt worth it then (even for a local kid like Dubois).

I think considering the situation CLB is in (in terms of competing for a Stanley cup), replacing Caufield with Tatar would be much more fair and would actually work money wise for MTL. OR I saw some trades earlier in which Danault, Guhle and a first were offered. Considering our amazing depth of defensemen prospects and our pile of picks in the last few draft, we could definitely make that kind of trade.

Yeah but it's looking like a possibility that Kotkaniemi might never be better than a good 3rd liner or bad 2nd liner

Also, looking at that OTT offer, how is that a great offer if compare to MTL? Norris is an enticing piece but is at max equal to Caufield or even less attractive to CLB and there is no player on Danault's level coming from OTT.

Winnipeg will be trading Laine next offseason. If Dubois is available then, a trade could happen but it sure won't be WPG adding to the trade

idk where you're getting this intel about him being their best player in camp... but yes you are right he is still only 20 so realistically, NOW is his time to start making improvements. After all, Barkov went 28G-31A=59pts in 66 games in his 20-21yr old season. So if KK is at all the player you say he is, those numbers are what we shld expect tbh
