He was horrible in edmonton. What he means is, after he was traded to NY he took off. He had I think 1 point in 20 games prior to the trade, and he didn’t immediately perform for the rangers. He got the majority of those 35 points in the final 50 games. Yes, Panarin did help his totals last year, but Panarin also reached higher totals as well from playing with Strome. He had 50 with the islanders, then couldn’t live up to the pressure as a young player. But yeah Eller and a 2nd is too much, definitely depends on this season. If he plays even better he could just be a late bloomer

My point is why would the Capitals trade Eller who is a great 2 way center and produces roughly the same offensively as Strome and add a 2nd...Panarin was on fire last year and made Strome look great. thats my opinion on the matter. like i said 35 point average player scores at a 70 point average playing with arguably the best winger in hockey not a coincidence

Your argument is flawed as it doesn’t take into account Stromes contributions as It doesn’t take into account that he was playing over four minutes more per game, or the fact that he got consistent power play time. Do I think Strome is a 70-80 point player without Panarin? No, but 50 isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

Flawed? i used averages and the one factor that raised his average was Panarin... is he a 50 point player without him? when has he ever scored 50 points ever besides last year? 2014-2015? that was 7 years ago... not going to argue over hypothetical while ignoring the facts in front of me. if you honestly think hes a 50 point center thats on you... im not that optimistic. more than likely hes a 35-40 point center. thats still really good all t hings considered but dont make this something its not. He is a really good 3c that can be a 2c if you surround him with talent . Capitals have 2 1c and Eller who again is just as good as Strome
