I hate to say it, but I don't think this gets it done. Sam is entering the expensive years and has little team control left, Casey is looking more like a bust than a good player and a 3rd does not move the needle. My guess is that it would be something like PLD for Cozens straight up, or something like Joki + Olofsson. If the Blue Jackets are high on Quinn they could do something like Quinn + a 2nd.

Reinhart is a consistent scorer and is responsible defensively. I think that would be the main piece in the trade for BUF. Mittelstadt can be a good 3rd line center i believe. I dont think BUF would trade Cozens or a young dman.

i don't think Cozens alone would get it done.
there is no sample size showing he will be good at the NHL level...
he is a nice piece, just not nice enough.

reinhart makes 200,000 more than dubios and is only 2 years older and frankly about as good.

Reinhart only has 2 years until UFA, he is a great player by not at the same value as a young all-star level center with 4 years of team control left.

200K more this year, he will prob make way more on the open market. Also RW is not as valuable as a C. I am a huge Reinhart fan but just dont think the value is there from a contract stand point.

True, but the exchange in value comes at Cozens make $925,000 for the next 3 years then his RFA years after that.

They aren’t trading a solid NHL player for someone just because of team control.
