Folks would be screaming for the GMs scalp. Why didn't he just sign Toffoli's as a UFA, instead of giving a 1st rounder to acquire him now?
Arizona loses that trade badly.

Welcome, even if you do a reasonable trade you’re likely to get torn to shreds by half the people anyway, don’t take it too hard. On the plus side it will actually cause you to learn hockey better as you do more research to find the elusive trade that won’t have you lynched

Just seems fair to say Kuemper is one of the best goalies in the league (.920sv%) and Smith is one of the worst (.900sv%) so it seems to be off value wise

With Arizona desperate for positive leverage also

Smith likely goes unsigned if not for Holland imo

My only critique is that you need to stay within the salary cap to come across as credible and more realistic. I would advise to not only focus on your own team but also continuously research the other 31 teams on the many internet hockey sites and hockey rumor sites and determine what their needs are and what assets you might have on hand that would benefit both them and you in a trade. Not bad for your first attempt, far better than mine was. I've only been here since early October myself and was torn to shreds over approximately my first 4 tries. Some attacks can be quite disheartening and abusive and take the fun out of it, had to put a couple of GM's on the ignore list and report another 3 or 4 for breaking Forum rules. But by my fifth or 6th try things settled down and I'm enjoying it again. Welcome to CapFriendly.
