That's an absolutely awful trade for Philly.

Leafs aren't trading four years of Nylander for one year of RNH. Why would the Leafs want two years of Fleury at 7m? Lots of options next summer for the Leafs as Andersen is a UFA.

How good is farrabee? Because I'm not interested in that trade as a Leafs fan. Robertson is our best forward prospect coming off a season over goal per game. Lehtonen seems like a pretty great signing.

20pts as a rookie last year. A 1st round pick 2 years ago

vs Robertson who was over a goal per game in junior? Hard to compare as such different league's. Obviously I don't think Lehtonen is worth the first, but that being said based on where the leafs are in building I'd rather Lehtonen. He'll help us now.

I think this is one of those trades where neither side would want it

LOL I think you meant to say, that's an awful trade for the leafs.

Well, not awful, I'm exaggerating to make a point, it's probably one of those, neither side does it. But it's definatly not awful for Philly, far from it.

Lehtonen signed as UFA as a Leaf. Trading him seems to a real bad idea, as what will other Europeans think of the Leafs, if the Leafs trade their "UFA." Lehtonen has trade value is very little now as an unproven European who is a UFA next summer.

For sure. I was speaking in a hypothetical world. The only way you do that is if you're making some blockbuster trade and you deal with the bad PR. Not a midlevel trade like this

Farabee played third line and had 21 points in 52 games. He played for the US development program and put up 40 points in 26 games, I'd probably use that stat when comparing to Robertson seeing as you used his junior stats compared to Farabee's NHL stats.

Regardless of who you pick between the two, a 1st round pick to TOR makes the trade lopsided.

A first round pick from a contender doesn't do us much right now. It's worth more than Lehtonen but I'd rather have Lehtonen right now who can play both sides on d and was ppg this fall in the khl from the back end.

Just doesn't make sense for the leafs. Value aside

You're right, and from a Flyers fan's perspective, I rather keep the 1st and see how Farabee does in his sophomore season now that he's had his first year under his belt. Seems to be one of those trades that neither side would wanna do!
