They have 3 guys on LTIR. Kucherov, Nilsson, and Gaborik. Once Tampa reaches the upper limit of the cap ($81.5M) those contracts act as a pool that they're allowed to go over that much. Hence the $97M cap hit

The funny thing is this team could be significantly better if he picked better contracts, IE Drasaitl over mcdavid, or pastranak over tarasenko

WHY CANT THE REST OF US GO 15 MILLION OVER THE CAP TAMPA. Imagine the Hawks dilemma if 6.875m Seabrook and 3.9m Shaw weren't all LTIRE.
