not sure they can put him on LTIR as he signed his contract over the age of 35 and is choosing to retire... it seems like it will be dead money on the NJD cap unfortunately

The contract has officially been voided. Zero cap implications and Crow didn't get $1.00.

Ya the over 35 rule was in place for good reasons and this wasn’t one of them. Glad devils didn’t get screwed

Reallyyy, that's news to me where did you see that? I guess the NHL owed it to the devils to circumvent the rules this one time since they got screwed on the whole Kovalchuk fiasco...

For nothing? What makes you think the Canes are going to just hand over Reimer for nothing?

My guess is the Canes would probably like to have more than 1 goalie with NHL experience when they are a playoff team.

Its not circumventing the rules, its in the new CBA
