they need a centre and save cap. also I like the competition it would create w zacha, Stephenson and glass for 2C

I like how it’s a plus with Marchy for Zacha. How many wingers produce what Marchy does for 5M?

Vegas up against cap and their c position isn’t strong for a cup contender. Solves both issues. In a normal year situation it’s be different but cap is level this year and most likely next year and clears that long term 5m deal out when you have tuch ready to go top six this year and krebs soon after.

Zacha isn’t a 2C on a bottom dwelling team so not sure that solves VGK’s center issue. Haula as a FA would’ve made sense or feeling out CBJ on PLD makes sense. Stephenson actually played well with Patches & Stone

Not a 2 but I think he adds to their bottom six depthand could settle in as a good 3, and the cap savings essentially solves Vegas issue there. Also I’ve done a couple Dubois ones with Vegas wanted to do something different.

Zacha is a bottom 2C, Marsassault is a top line winger, and VGK add? No thanks

i would say marchessault is more of a 2nd line winger. not sure that they should add except for the fact that zacha is an RFA and cheaper so maybe a lesser pick. not saying zacha is a great centre but I think the competition for that spot can be interesting.

He’s definitely a top 6 winger though, vs a bottom 6 centre. If glass doesn’t pan out as a 2C they’re screwed regardless. They gotta just roll the dice with glass and hope he can deliver the results he was expected to

Vegas has bottom 6 depth. They struggle with top 6 depth. They are already paying less for players that can play bottom 6 C. Roy, Glass, Nosek and Stephenson all play C. If Vegas is giving up Marchessault its to help with a 2C that the organization obviously doesn't feel they need to address.

Vegas will be cap compliant with a 20 man roster which is seemingly their plan. Thus move doesn't "need" to happen it would just be nice to have more cap but for a better deal.

20 man roster in a condensed season is asking for it and Zacha very well could show top six ability. But like someone else mentioned now you have three guys going for the second line c spot and competition is a good thing.
