I just think Ho-Sang is a Yzermann type and they really have nothing to loose sitting Ryan to find out.

Ho Sang seems be like dozens. hundreds of AHLers......not NHL competent. Don't you think the Isles would have kept him if he was NHL good?

I think he got in Lou Lamoriello‘s dog House When he spoke his mind. I think this is a personality clash not a talent issue

Why does JHS seem like a Yzerman guy? If anything I’d wager it’s the opposite after trading ADA & Drouin in Tampa and AA in Detroit.

ADA? But you do have a point somewhat with Drouin. Problem with Drouin problem was he refused the assignment JHS didn’t just said he thought he deserved to be on the team.
JHS already better defensively than Drouin.

I’m not talking about if they play a complete game but rather character concerns. Many teams had JHS off their draft list same with ADA because character concerns. Drouin’s issue is not reporting and wanting ice time he didn’t deserve and crying about it. Have they changed? Possibly, but Yzerman has been known to ship guys with question marks. What makes you think JHS is a Yzerman type when he didn’t pick him up on waivers last year?

DeAngelo wasn’t registering wtf ADA was. You may be right just at this point I think the game is complete

Every time Yzerman has a guy that has bumped heads with management at all he's gone in less than a season. So how is Ho-sang an Yzerman guy?????????

I'd like to give Ho-sang a try but the chances of yzerman doing it are slim to none that he makes it to Detroit.

Is Ho-sang really comparatively the head case D’Angelo was when he was with Tampa Bay as a member of the lightning D’Angelo got suspended eight times playing for Sarnia

I think Josh Ho-Sang is an Yzerman type pickup not because he has personality issues or whatever, but because he has plenty of talent but the team that owns his rights refuses to play him in the NHL, or give a fair chance. Players like this were Fabbri and Perlini.

No, but that rationale is a slippery slope because you’re using one person to be the measuring stick of the label character issues. It was widely reported Ho-Sang was on multiple do not draft lists for whatever reason (attitude, interview, etc). Just because one person is worse doesn’t make the other person good.

Wasn’t necessarily saying that just saying that use an Anthony D’Angelo as a comparison with a risky comparison

Perlini was traded for because of injuries and Yzerman needed players that could at least keep up and he is no longer with the team. St. Louis traded for DLR for much of the same reason injuries and DLR is a solid player that can play in all defensive situations. Fabbri's career had stalled mostly from injuries and lack of confidence stemming from those injuries. At no point was he black listed by the Blues. For whatever reason Ho-Sang has. I don't know why or who's really at fault and for this discussion it doesn't really matter. Yzerman's history has shown he stays away from players in these types of situations. With a young locker room I don't see him taking this chance. Ho-Sang's play may have made him the type of player Yzerman like but his off ice issues over shadow that. I did say I'm not against Ho-Sang in Detroit but I just don't think it will happen.

So much so that they gave away Timashov. I have no idea why but I did think he'd at least get a shot in Detroit.

That's completely fair. Idk, I just thought it was an Yzerman style move to trade for a player who hasn't been given the opportunity to succeed on other teams.
