Both Demko and Holtby have looked good the Canucks aren't gonna suddenly fall off a cliff. Also, Montreal was three points up on Buffalo with Buffalo having two games in hand. Montreal signs a couple of wingers and immediately become the most overrated team in the league lol

VANCOUVER AT LAST??????????????
Dude, too much coffee this morning?

North division is the hardest to predict, the others are pretty easy.
im taking Markstrom for a top 3 spot.
Im also taking the Leafs because theyve been consistent at getting a top 3 spot the past few years and didnt lose anyone.
Im taking Montreal because they have some of the best depth.

Im not taking Winnipeg because i dont trust their defence and their ability to withstand 1-2 injuries.
Im not taking Edmonton because i dont trust the defence and their ability to withstand 1-2 injuries specifically McDavid/Drai. And i dont trust Koskinen.
Vancouver is kinda tricky, i feel like they might have overachieved last year. JT Miller, Quinn Hughes and EP all exploded in terms of production. They gained Schmidt but lost Tanev and Markstrom who is huge. If Demko doesnt prove hes a capable starter and Holtby continues to flop , they might have some issues.

I like the Pesky Sens

Dude Florida’s blue line is awful! Stralman isn’t a top 4 anymore Florida way overplayed him Yandle is a meh defensive defenseman Gudas is a 3rd pair . Ekblad and Weegar are the only solid D-men Florida has. Ekblad is a top 15 in the league IMO

I don't see Vancouver being better at allowing insane transition offence against like they did last year and if they don't fix that, I can't see Holtby and Demko doing what Markstrom did last season. I do agree that Montreal is overrated after downgrading from Domi and getting Tofolli, but they do have a tonne of speed and good depth which could see them in a playoff spot. Vancouver could make the playoffs but it's doubtful, I have Calgary, TO way ahead of them and Montreal and likely Edmonton ahead as well.

I'll just comment from a Jets perspective on the North division, it's a pretty wide open div and could go anyway really for any of the teams, one key injury could derail any of their seasons, not sure any of them really have the depth to survive an injury to an important player.

If the Jets lost someone key especially one of Morrissey or Pionk that could be their season finished right there. I think there's three or four things that have to happen for the Jets to be successful this season. 1) No regression in play from Helly or Pionk, not saying Hellebuyck has to have a Vezina season again but if he has a noticeable drop in play they're screwed, would be interesting to see if Brossoit does better with more starts though, Pionk needs to be solid again, he'll be relied on heavily once again this year. 2) No major injuries on the back end, as mentioned earlier in don't think they could survive a Morrissey or Pionk injury, just don't see the other Dmen they have being able to support their D partner like Buff and Trouba could or having a 3rd pair dman like Myers is a luxury that's long gone, a breakout season from Niku, Heinola or Poolman could alleviate this concern somewhat though.
3) The bottom two lines not being an offensive black hole, now this is I think their biggest issue even bigger then their patchy D core. In my opinion the Jets have a great top 6 and then two 4th lines and I just don't see that working, now the 4th line is improved compared to what they had for most of last season so if whoever is slotted there can keep up with their career averages that might compensate enough for what is a 3rd line that is unproductive to say the least so if the 4th line can be a bit more productive that might offset the 3rd line and it'll balance out a bit, the Lowry line finally hitting average 3rd line production would be great and would make a big difference in how this season goes for the Jets. 4) Finally and this one is obvious and could be said about any teams top weapons but a big season from Laine(if hopefully not traded!) will be massive for this team and would likely offset any shortcomings from the bottom two lines if they continue to suck.

The Canadian division seems up for grabs, could go any which way for any of the teams, those are what I see as keys for the Jets to be either 1st, 7th or somewhere in between, just my $0.02.

I agree I love the Jets and they can easily get any spot in the division. But health will play a huge factor. Any injury to one of Scheifele, Hellybuck or Morrissey could be a disaster
