Dubois isn’t a upgrade and Wilson brings to much grit to move and I’d rather have Wilson over nyquist

Nyquist is actually dealt (with a small retainment) with a 1st round pick to Vegas in this proposed deal for Alex Tuch.

Lmfao. Washington passes pretty easily. Kuzy at his best is way better at his worse will still put up more points. Wilson isn’t going anywhere. If he did it would be for a player WAY better than Nyquist. THEN you add our best D prospect. Lol come on now.

Kuzy > PLD
Wilson > Tuch

Fehevary and 1st > overpayments

Nyquist was just a throw-in to make the salaries work. It's meant to be a deal to get an elite younger piece for Washington to win long-term. I then dealt Nyquist to Vegas with a 1st attached to get Alex Tuch.

Kuzy = PLD at worse.

Wilson > Tuch. I don’t see why Washington is giving up assets and becoming at best the same

To get players before the prime of their careers in exchange for players that are in their prime.

Wilson is more popular than a Ovechkin in Washington. Not to mention he’s a 50 point pace player that does it all. Kuzy today is better and caps are in win now mode. Not to mention Mcmichael is coming w Protas and Lappy shortly behind him. Maybe Kuzy for PLD 1 for 1 but why would they do that either team

I'm trying to not say that this is just Capital trades done by someone that wants to make the Capitals worse... but the more that you post the clearer it is that that is all that this is.

No, actually not. I was making a trade (or trades) that would make Washington better long-term, by adding young players already in the NHL and producing well and betting that they would be even better in a few years. IOW, a clever re-tool on the fly without tanking for picks.

That Caps need the talent now, not later. They need it while Ovechkin is still useful. This, technically the Caps version, hurts the Caps. Makes them a lesser team now, and doesn't really do much later, once Ovechkin's influence has been wasted.
