Cheviarelli Trades adjusted

Created by: jgimp69
Team: 2020-21 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 10, 2021
Published: Jan. 10, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
**adjusted trades as per recommendations**
If Winnipeg is out by TC, some moves to recoup picks. Bring up some young guys from the Moose and the juniors once their shortened season is done.
Big trade is Lowry and Forbert to Boston. They have limited cup runs and Lowry would make a great 3C in a shutdown role grinding the other team down. Forbert adds nice depth to a depleted defence.
Stasny gets moved back to Vegas for a deep run. The NJ 2nd and the Jets 4th in return.

Trades
1.
WPG
  1. Borgström, Henrik [RFA Rights]
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
Borgstrom gets a fresh start in Finnipeg. I suggested Borg/2nd a few weeks back and although I thought is was a good trade, some thought a 2nd was too much. Changed it to a third.
FLA
  1. Roslovic, Jack [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
This trade is done prior to start of this season
2.
WPG
  1. 2021 2nd round pick (NJD)
  2. 2021 4th round pick (WPG)
VGK
  1. Stastny, Paul ($3,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Vegas goes on a deep run and the Stasny ping pong saga continues. A 1st is too much so took what should be an early 2nd and Winnipeg’s original 4th (Eakin trade)
3.
WPG
  1. 2021 6th round pick (WSH)
Additional Details:
Changed the pick to a 6th rounder as I got too greedy
WSH
  1. Perreault, Mathieu ($2,000,000 retained)
4.
WPG
  1. 2021 5th round pick (OTT)
Additional Details:
Changed pick to 5th rounder as per suggestion
5.
WPG
  1. 2021 2nd round pick (BOS)
  2. 2022 5th round pick (BOS)
BOS
  1. Forbort, Derek
  2. Lowry, Adam ($1,250,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Changed as per recommendations
With Boston losing Z and Krug, Forbert gives Boston some much needed depth. Lowry brings a great shutdown 3C role with a physical grinding game. This may be Boston last last decent cup runs with this current core.
I realize the Lowry trade wouldn’t happen with the Jets hiring his dad, but this would be a great trade and give him

No those people who said a 2nd and Borgström was too much are wrong, that's more then fair.

You're asking for too much from Boston, a 3rd and 5th for both is fair, Thompson is like a 7th and Perreault a 6th if anyone wants them, with the retention the Stastny trade is fair.

Uhh if anything these trades make him a genius LOL. Way too much coming back in most of these. Would be nice to recoup some of the picks we gave up for stastny

I like Lowry as a 4C even though he has a high cap hit but Bruins could be fine with Kuraly if he bounces back this season. Pass on Forbort. A 1st is too much.

I’ve always thought depending on each team’s season the Stastny deal was just a seat Warmer for Vegas until they could afford to bring him back.

So I believe VGK would say yes to his return.

I was kind of going by the Coleman trade from last year. A late 1st and Foote for Coleman. Lowry, whole not as offensively gifted, is built for playoffs wearing the other team down. Add in Forbert and figured a late 1st is close.
Got hopeful on Frenchie and Thompson. Figured mid to late rounders but always hard to judge, especially with retentions.

It’s so hard to judge sometimes. Some teams overpay especially with retentions.

That’s a no from Boston, their top 3 lines are set a C. They have a good 4th line C in Kuraly with Frederic pushing him. And then there is Studnicka,

Forbort is not an upgrade over what they have.

Brisebois overpaid for Coleman but in comparison Coleman had another year of term, is cheaper and has been more productive then ol stonehands Lowry has ever been.. Lol

I get you're retaining on Lowry and Forbort is in there but that still isn't worth a 1st, I see you've edited this to a 2nd, that's close and probably the most any team would give but realistically I think he'd fetch a 3rd, can't see any team parting with a 1st for a guy who really is a 4th line player.
