Hard pass from Detroit. Griess is going to be our starter for the next 2 years to bridge the gap, Hutton is garbage and Samuelsson is a COMPLETELY unproven asset. We're also not giving up picks during a rebuild unless it's part of a significant move that will move the needle significantly long term.

Hutton was not healthy last year, he has recovered and was playing a lot better in camp. Samuelsson is by far the most valuable piece in that deal. The Sabres wouldnt even offer it

Oof. I was going to say we shouldn't want kane. His contract is a boat anchor that we can't afford until we get rid of Okposo. Even so, the value is fair. He'd be worth 3 firsts and a first-line RW if he was 25, not 32.

Right now this trade is kane for quinn and a 1st, then Okposo contract to balance out cap and davidsson a failed prospect(not worth anything IMO).

Its hard to find an even ground between these two teams. best chance to see Kane in Buffalo is as a UFA if he doesn't re-sign.

I think Kane's age, just recently turning 32, and 3 years left on his agreement shouldn't be a concern given Kane is not only continuing to play at an Elite level but because the type of game he plays, there should be no concern over him declining at least for the term of his agreement.

Okposo is a cap dump as it pertains to the Hawks which is fine considering balancing the cap hit. 1st rounders are great but they are a gamble and with Kane, Buffalo should be close to the playoffs and if not a low odds lottery pick. Quinn is valuable for sure. I think Hawks retain $2M and take Reinhardt back and that balances this in my mind.

Granted I'm no GM, but I'm not trading reinhart.

Quite an upgrade at RW with Kane though
