Why is Neal on LTIR?

Also I guess it’s possible this happens but probably not likely

I would assume that Hoffman has already signed a contract with St. Louis that won’t be sent to the league till they set their ltir.

Puljujarvi needs to ease into the NHL beside turris against lower competition. If Kassian starts to play poorly then you try him a couple games mid way through the season. I don't think kassian will play poorly though just because the Canadian division will be so intense.

Deemed unfit to play, it;s likely his lingering foot injury

That's likely what happens unless a team comes in and offers something amazing

So Hoffman is going to sign with the team that doesn’t have as good a chance of winning the cup and he has to pay 10% higher in state income tax doesn’t make sense to me 5% in Missouri 15% in Alberta

Alberta doesn't have provincial (state) sales tax

"Alberta continues to have an overall tax advantage compared to other provinces, with no sales tax, no payroll tax and no health premium."

https://www.alberta.ca/taxes.aspx

There's a lot of reasons to not play in Alberta but taxes aren't one of them.

Do you have a link to that? Trying to find it...THN has a post from yesterday interviewing him talking about the upcoming season.

They said Neal was in quarantine for the last month and he was in excellent shape before that but now he needs to get back into shape. It could be his toe. He also had known associates and training partners who are confirmed to have covid. I'm guessing Neal had a close contact or symptoms so had to isolate for 2 weeks then at the end had either the same thing or popped a rapid test on the way into Canada and had to quarantine again. He has been skating now but i don't know how long it takes to get into NHL shape so its hard to say.

A 1 year deal wouldn't hurt them. It can't be at that cap hit though and honestly he isn't needed. He will just push useful penalty killers into waivers and they will get lost.

Yah I don’t want him. He’s not the winger that we need.
