Quoting: SevenLeg
It's your opinion, but I strongly disagree with it. Mete is younger, less injury prone, and one of the best transition dmen in the league, who is on par with guys like Chabot, Theodore & Karlsson in that statistic
And that’s your opinion, So agree to disagree.
I did a huge analysis post on Mete a while back which would really apply to this conversation (if I can find it I’ll copy it back here), but in general I highlight his excellent transition game, but how in never amounts to anything when he is on the ice. He’s also a defensive liability, and I’m not exaggerating (the Philly series should of solidified that too).
Not to mention organizationally Mete really has nowhere to go. He’s not bumping out anyone above him in the short term (maybe Edmundson if he doesn’t pan out) and long term he’ll be phased out with an over abundance of better well rounded prospects playing the same position (Guhle, Norlinder, Struble, Harris, etc.)
Juulsen was pretty much in the same spot as Mete short term, but at least had a shot at the 3rd pair RD with only Fleury and Brook as his closest competition long term.
