Looks like Nesterov won the #6 spot in camp. Someone's going to claim Shillington. Bet it's Detroit.

He’s good but he’s not better than Lehtonen or Sandin. Maybe better than Dermott but you still don’t have room for him as the 8th D

He's on waivers. The Flames arn't keeping him as a 7D, he's headed to the taxi squad.

I don’t see TML claiming a LHD.

yea but both Lehtonen and Sandin are waiver exempt I believe so if Dermott wins the 3rd pair spot (which as of today he is) they could make the room

I thought Lehtonen’s been playing really well in camp? I just don’t really see the need for the Leafs, they don’t have the cap for multiple scratches and it would likely benefit them more to accrue cap space if Lehtonen and Sandin both miss and go on the taxi squad. Wouldn’t Schenn be a better target anyway? Rosen doesn’t exactly inspire confidence as the next RD up.

yea he has been. I didn't expect it but Dermott is in, Lehtonen is out today. Whether or not that sticks, I don't know. In theory Schenn would but I'd target Kylington for his potential.

you would have to waive someone else then or move someone else down he would have to stay on your active roster.

Yeah that’s the plan...unless someone grabs him off waivers.

I guess I don’t fully understand the waivers/taxi situation this year. Because I think it’s a no-brainer for a number of teams to acquire Kylington for nothing. He’s easily worth a 3rd round pick. Was also very surprised to see Ryan going through waivers. I’m hoping that means Treliving has a Dubois deal in the works....
