Kylington is, at best, a 3rd pairing D. He skates well, but doesn’t do anything else very well and he’s not able to kill penalties.

As for Ryan he's 34, he's done. They don't have 3 mil to throw around, especially if they want to made a deadline move. I'd rather build that cap space than half ass fix a problem when you know it's not really gonna work.
