I'm surprised despite knowing he's shown well at camps previous and that the organization has invested in his development. I really liked what I saw from him in the Swiss league when I did get to see limited clips. His speed and two-way style is going to add to the penalty kill. I was more in favour of him getting big minutes in the AHL over the whole season, but seeing him produce at the rate I'd have hoped he would in a mathematically-equivalent league, there's more benefit to practicing and playing at an NHL place. Each team is going to go through at least three dozen bodies this season, and his young legs have miles to burn.
Honestly more surprised that Benson is still on the roster. You appear to have missed him here, but he wasn't included in yesterday's reassignments or today's roster moves. Hope he makes the most of this: I know Lowetide's gone on record of next season being least chance Texaco, but I honestly think it's this year. If Benson can't show, even in a limited viewing, the club is so apt to use him as a trade asset before the rest of the league clues into him being more of a career AHLer.
I wonder if Khaira's utter lack of offensive skill has finally caught up with him. If the club is going to sign Shore and if Haas is maybe at most a month away from rejoining the club, I'm of the mindset that Khaira isn't taxi squad bound. I think the roster might miss the toughness and PK acumen, but I agree with some that those two aspects aren't enough to warrant keeping him on the roster.
