Leafs have bottom 6 depth covered, defense is the only place I see them making potential waiver claims, but I think they will be too far down the list to get anyone good.

dubas had interest in him when the oilers were shopping on connor brown. he also brings a physical element that would mold well with simmonds. i also dont think hes that bad, last year he had 15 EV strength assists in the oilers bottom 6 which is pretty bad.
Saskleaf and NLidstrom liked this.

Dubas tried to trade for Khaira before, he's about like Pierre Engvall. He can play 4C and wing hits and can fight. Edmonton wants to give other players a chance to play 4c because Khaira has peaked.

i disagree, their blueline is kind of crowded rn. adding a guy like khaira would give them a bang and crash 4th line which would do wonders for this team

they have D depth covered too. I would only take a waiver claim if I thought they could slot into the top 9 at some point or the guy has potential worth claiming (both of which would never make it to us on waivers)

Hm, I feel like that role is covered and then some. I worry about the defense but it may just be because I am a bit low on Holl.

Leafs won’t claim anyone on waivers. They don’t. Have any available roster spots.

He's an upgraded version of Engvall if you want to look at it that way

It does feel that way. The reason Khaira would be claimed though is his PK ability. He was Edmonton's best PK forward last season.

I think Oilers are indifferent he didn't crack the roster. He can almost be buried on the taxi squad though too so if he ends up there thats ok.

Leafs have 2 forwards on the roster who are waiver exempt in Robertson and Barabanov and could create room. While I don't think it will happen, it definitely could happen.

To be fair riley sheahan was the best and archibald was his partner. khaira was on pk 2 with Nugent hopkins he was really good though they had the No 2 PK in the league.

I'm more talking about results. Khaira had the best outcomes when he was on the ice.
