You’d need to put Juulsen on waivers to put him on your taxi squad. In that case, the habs claim him and send him to Laval.

If Habs claim him and send him to Laval, don’t they have to waive him again to do so?

No. If the team that claims a player off waivers puts him on waivers again, his original team is able to claim him and send him directly to the AHL.

I mean that’s only if he’s placed on waivers within a short period of time correct? Obviously if it’s March and they send him down, MTL would need to waive him in order to send him down?

I’m pretty sure it lasts until the end of the regular season. Although I can’t find it on CapFriendly, and I don’t have time to comb through the CBA right now, so I’m not 100% sure. But I wouldn’t expect there to be a time limit (other than a singular season).
