    Did he get waived?

And is he even any good anymore?
He was only on pace for 35pts last season

    Yes he got waived.
35 pts is about the same as he had the two previous seasons of 38 each.

Over the last four seasons he has 49 goals and 134 pts while Eakin has 41 and 95 respectively.
Last year he was +9 v -9 compared to Cody.
His life time FO% is 55.7 v 49.9 for Cody.
Derek is a late bloomer and did not reach the NHL full time until the 2016-'17 season.
Eakin is much younger but for one season, I would love to see him in a Sabre uniform.
I really hope we pick him off of waivers.

    EDIT:
Buffalo NEEDS to pick up Ryan.
    He was Skinner's #1 from 2016-'18.
Put Jeff on the third line with Ryan as Center.
    Taylor Jack Tage
    Victor Eric Sam
    Jeff Derek Dylan
    Arttu Cody Kyle.

    EDIT to my EDIT:
While I think Ryan will solidify the teams chances of making the playoffs, if the team underperforms again he, Staal and Montour would bring back valuable assets at the TDL.
For the third time (not necessarily the last), Buffalo SHOULD pick him off of waivers and I hope they do.

Ryan is a below average Center now,
there’s a reason he got waived
And while he MIGHT be a bit better than Eakin,
it wouldn’t be a huge improvement
And Eakin is signed, so it’s not like we can just dump that
    Cap hit off the books
If u think Ryan is the missing piece that gets us to the playoffs, then i HIGHLY disagree
1- Cozens might even be better right now
2- that Cap space needs to go to a goalie upgrade

We aren’t making the playoffs without a goalie upgrade no matter who our 3C is

I see you point that if he is waived he most not be very good.
I think the Flames feel Elias Lindholm and Sam Bennett will be upgrades for the center spot.
As I laid out above Ryan has an excellent resume and would be our #3 center and has a good history with Skinner.
You are correct he is not the KEY to making the playoffs, just a huge upgrade over Eakin.
IMO management has decided that Ullmark is ready to take over the keys.
BTW, most people think Hart is THE GK for the Flyers.
Switch teams and I think Ullmark would be considered the second coming of Bernie Parent (just a little hyperbolic).

    EDIT:
    Let's agree to disagree.
Ryan would certainly be better than anyone on the roster to replace Girgesons.

I take issue with u saying he has an “excellent” resume
    And it’s a “huge” upgrade
    You’re exaggerating your point unnecessarily

And even if he was a huge upgrade- you’re not considering the Cap ramifications and how that takes away room we need to upgrade goalie

If u think 3C is a more important piece than goalie,
then I’ll never agree with that

Plus, i don’t see any reason why Cozens can’t play 3C
And he’s a much better option than Eakin or Ryan imo
So we already have that 3C upgrade on our team already!!!
