I still think we could see Wahlstrom in the opening lineup, it seems that the moves yesterday were to maximize LTIR space

I thought they would put Bellows and Wahlstrom on the taxi squad and rotate them in out of the lineup from the taxi after game 1 but Wahlstrom today is on the secondary group which makes me think he going back to the AHL but it is possible he still goes on the Taxi squad with Bellows.

Based on practice td he’s 100% going to the AHL and it’s absolutely insane they gotta trade him if he’s not gonna play just gonna obliterate all his value sitting in the A

I gotta think one of the two end up on the every day roster, both have had a strong camp so I’d like both but I think one is a reasonable expectation

They should not trade him, he prob goes to taxi squad maybe? Idk, I’d love to see him play tho

They shouldn’t trade him but if he’s not gonna play the window is open now and would rather try to win then let prospects rot.. he’s going to the AHL he’d have been with group 1 if he was going to the taxi squad

The reason why trotz is seen as a great coach is because he can make any roster competitive - I have no doubt he could make Ottawa a playoff team , but because he only cares about playing “his guys” his teams usually never make it far in the playoffs because he never ices the best lineup and relies on grinders. That’s why he’s only made it out of the 2nd rd twice in his coaching career.

So isles will make the playoffs , but won’t get past the first round if they don’t play the kids
