So is Romanov an actual contended for the Calder then? IMO he should be on this list.

*Edit* Also Cozens and Zegras are not Dark Horses

If I'm reading this right, you have Volkov as your #1? Maybe, but I doubt he'll have enough opportunities with the only forward roster subtractions from last year being Verhaeghe and Paquette.

Most people see him as the top contender for defence man when it comes to the Calder

I think with the Absence of kucherov the lightning relay heavily on the young Russian who shares an overwhelming amount of similarities to kucherov

I think, Byram and Smith would be top defensive contenders, with Romanov being just behind them.

Sure, but Volkov is not as talented as Kucherov. Volkov is more of a project who may be a low-end Kucherov if he really works hard the next 2-3 years, in my opinion.

Romanov was playing in the khl last year so I think he will have the easiest transition to the nhl out of the three and byram won’t get much play time do to the stacked aves d core and I can see smith as a possible but I think he will be pretty sheltered this season

It's looking like Josh Norris is going to start the year on the 1st line and 1st PP. He's being put in a position to really succeed this season, and I think he's got the talent to thrive this season. Not to be Mr. Hot take, but I'd argue that as a 21 year old with North American pro experience, he's even better positioned to win the Calder than Stuetzle, who I'm expecting to have at least some growing pains as an 18 year old adapting to a bigger and faster game on smaller ice.

Yes but he’s lefty like kuch has decent iq and vision and some pretty good passing so I think Tampa might try him on the pp and that could end up causing a kubalik type situation

i have Stutzle over Laf for Calder imo. Hes gonna be playing top 6 mins and top PP unit and on a line next to Dadonov. Laf will start on the 3rd line and wont play as many minutes as Stutzle will play imo. Stutzle and Kaprizov will have the biggest roles on their team

That was mb for some reason I thought Norris played to many games last year to be considered a rookie this year he should def be up there

True but IMO laf is just coming with more skill and will work his way up to better minutes
