Save The Trade Assets - Claim Holden

Description

Holden is available on waivers right now. He is better and cheaper than Moore. He also has familiarity with the team and is known as a good locker room guy. Save the trade assets you would have used at the deadline to add a body on the left side and claim Holden, put Moore on the taxi squad (he won’t get claimed), and just like that you’re deeper and better than you were. Almost seems like a no brainer.

And if they’re really opposed to adding an older guy this early in the season, at least try to claim Kylington

If they claimed anyone it would Kylington.

They are not claiming garbage. Not signing below average free agents. Not making trades. You are going to have to accept this is their team, til the deadline anyway.

A) He is not better than Moore.
B) Yes, he is overpaid, but the Bruins don't need his cap Space. At all.
C) Moore does not get enough credit for what he does. He plays 3 games a month and doesn't stink. He isn't great, but what do you expect, he sees game action a couple times a month. He never complains about Ice time.
D) Kylington is interesting, but let's go with our kids who have been developing in the Bruins system.

Overall point being - they have plenty of depth with Kampfer , achan & Wolff in the minors and Moore and Clifton as the 7th and 8th dmen.

If they really need to address the LD position this year, there is a zero point zero percent chance the solution is Nick Holden. It would be a legit top 4 LD - probably someone they see as the #1 LD - My best two guesses would be Hanafin or Ryan Murray.

If BOS was to claim him they would have to play him, and that's VERY doubtful. And im pre sure Kylington cleared.
