Then McFlurry isn’t going anywhere earlier during FA vegas shopped around fleury with a 1st and 2nd and all teams said they wouldn’t take him unless he was also half retained

Just like the asking price for TJ? VGK doesn’t need to move him to be complaint since they taxi squad Holden.

No they can’t have an injury or they are screwed becuase they only got 100k in cap and that’s not enough to bring in a replacement

They will be fine and if comes to something needing to move cap then they’re better options (no NTC, not cap dumps, etc). If the injury is serious then it’s LTIR and frees up the space anyway so not a huge deal.

Rn they have 100k in cap space, if a player gets injured and has to miss say 2 weeks then Vegas can’t call up anyone because they would be over the cap by large margin

Like I said, if they need to make a move because an injury is going to fall short of LTIR (which is doubtful) then they move a lesser part and don’t attach a first and second with 50% retention. Who knows maybe someone goes LTIR from a nagging injury or they require surgery worst case. I also wouldn’t say 600-700k is a large margin to move.

They could trade Reaves or Martinez or one of their many wingers. They could try Krebs or Elvenes or sign someone to a league minimum. There isn’t only one way to this puzzle.

Those are players they will have to pay to move, Vegas doesn’t have the LTIR opt out like tampa was gifted they are screwed

I just want to clarify something to your narrative. Vegas offered a 2nd to every team to take Fleury.

Reporters said OTHER teams came back with the 1st and then 1st and 2nd. There was never a report that Vegas made any of the offers following the initial 2nd.

Per Pierre Lebrun who is one of if not the most reliable insiders, the VGK offered a 1st and 2nd and teams countered with an added max retention

You call all of the GMs in your contact list to confirm this? Martinez is a top 4 guy, Reaves is that old school gritty player every GM covets, and I’m not going to list the wingers as that’s just poor judgement to think Marchy, Smith, Tuch, etc are cap dumps. Maybe a team like Detroit takes Martinez with a smaller cap hit coming back to Vegas like Nemeth.

Martinez isn’t as good as he once was and is no longer worth more than 2mil, and nobody is paying almost 2mil in a flat cap era for an enforcer, if you where to trade Martinez to detriot for nemeth you would have to pay them you can’t just give a team cap for nothing

Your quote proves me right
“The Golden Knights have reportedly offered a second-round pick for a team to take just half of Fleury’s salary, but teams, including the Hurricanes, are asking for a first and a second. Moving Fleury is the top priority right now”

They offered half of his contract with a 2nd and teams said no we want a 1st also

Aswell as the second thing you sent says that VGK offered not only a 1st and 2nd but a minimum of 33% retained

No I believe I said after Vegas offered the 2nd every other claim was other teams

I don't see you saying any of the above quote.

Just because you feel like ****ting on a team that isn't the lightning doesn't mean you can ignore that Vegas refused other teams counters and held to their initial ask. Vegas isn't the only team that is going to run a 20 man roster this season. Yes injuries could crew them but obviously they are prepared to try it.

Again you are just showing that you don't know the roster or that you are familiar with the minor points of the team. Vegas has multiple defensive prospects other teams want. They also have wingers in the AHL that can be trade bait.

You obviously dislike the roster so why bother giving your opinion?

So 10 games with VGK and he goes from worth 2 second rounders to being a cap dump. Not sure 10 games = “once was”. Martinez would fetch more than Nemeth at the TDL so it would make sense for Detroit so again your points aren’t logical.

Oh no I got the 1st and max retention mixed up it must be the end of the world
And VGK only has 5 notable prospects and none of them are worth taking on cap dumps

Lol everyone knew that the Martinez trade was a sever overpayment he’s been declining for years and Martinez is a cap dump and won’t fetch anything at the TDL

Nah because NJD Isn’t really looking to dump cap they would just stick with the first trade
