You'd have to waive him again to get him on the taxi squad, and Carolina would just claim him back

If Carolina claim Ned, he doesn't have to go through waivers again. It's a weird rule. Carolina claim him, he can be put on the taxi squad.

Carolina is likely betting that the one-way salary makes him a less-than-appealing #3 option for other clubs. Canes IMO only claimed Forsberg as insurance in case that Ned didn't clear.

It goes on standings of the previous season for the first month of the season. After that it goes by active standings. And if you claim a player you waived within X amount of time, he no longer needs waivers.

No, if you claim someone you waived, I believe it's wthin 30 days, they can be assigned to the taxi squad or AHL without waivers.
