CGY isn’t trading their most complete player let alone just for a 1st.

I’ve heard they may terminate his contract but I’m not really sure

Lindholm is probably not worth 4 times more that a first, that seems like a bit much.

Kane is playing and Sharks aren’t trading picks (even if Kane wasn’t playing we’d likely take on a bad contract like Johnson or Eriksson to gain assets not lose).

Meier - Couture - Labanc
Leonard - Hertl - Kane

Was our top 6 for practice that’s opening night lines. Kane’s not terminating it would make zero sense - it’s more logical to recoup the money by playing and fix his debt; sell his houses (if plausible) (he’s got at least 3 houses but reported 6 or 7 dependants so he could be paying for families housing and that’s hard a lot of money going out) and downgrade to reduce costs can start there.

Kane filed for bankruptcy and has stated he may sit out this season due to concerns a of COVID and his new born baby.

Kane's debt is reportedly just over $26M and his asset values are just over $10M. But if he plays this season he debtors may collect his salary as part of garnishing his wages to repay debt. So as part of his bankruptcy plan, he may sit out so they can't do that. San Jose then has the option to terminate his contract for failing to report to the team.

So yes, it is very likely that he doesn't play.

But on the bright side, if San Jose terminates his contract, he can finally kick the shiit outta Jake Paul in boxing 🤷🏻‍♂️

I read that they can carry the year over (if they’d want to) similar to that Yashin situation. I have an odd feeling he’s prefer that then collect an 82 game salary instead of 56 game for his contract. If that’s what went through his head.

regardless, SJ is not going to trade another top 5 pick. SJ burns the trade.

That’s not the point lol. Both teams are allowed declining. Sharks can have as little interest as the you would - a deal requires two parties to accept therefore both parties can also decline.

Lindholm is > than a first but the sharks don’t need to trade away a lottery pick so the gain of Lindholm isn’t worth it if they still suck (which Kane/ Lindholm wouldn’t change the whole team if the issue stems from goaltending/ d)
