Pretty good extension. Maybe a little bit high. Good middle 6 player though

He’s good, but this is a little too much for me term wise.

Marcus Foligno's a really good role player, but I'm not a fan of giving bottom 6 guys multi-year deals.

This suggests to me that the Wild are going to protect 7 forwards (Parise, Zuccarello; Eriksson Ek, Fiala, Foligno, Greenway and Hartman) and 3 defensemen in the expansion draft, which means either exposing Dumba or trading him.

Not a fan of this contract. It's not awful, but it's not good and definitely isn't going to help the Wild who already have a plethora of overpaid contracts.

Decent bottom 6 pk player but too much AAV Andy the term could bite Minny

Amazing defense first role player. That's his thing and he's underratedly very good in his own end.

However, I'm not so sure about the contract. I know he isn't there for the offensive production, but I don't think we'll see an increase anytime soon. It'll just be a steady decrease. This contract takes him till he's 33 which isn't horrible, but I just don't think he's the kind of guy like Matt Cullen, Joe Thornton etc. I think he'll be pretty burnt out by then. Bit high on the cap hit too but holistically, it's an okay contract to me.

Most people are going to say it’s too much, but really isn’t not the worst considering he was already making ~$2.9M. He’s great away from the puck, is reliable for 20-25 points and throws the body. Solid bottom 6 guy.

People who are voting ‘No’ to the good signing poll have no idea how valuable defensively and in the locker room Marcus is to the Wild. They only look at points. The advanced stats speak for themselves.

He's a bottom six guy, but he's one of the best defensive forwards in the NHL. Solid deal.

He's also a huge identity guy for the Wild.

Still doesn't warrant this contract. Great bottom 6 guy that kills penalties. I don't mind the term myself but the AAV/Cap Hit is just plain atrocious.

Ok so I guess “heart and soul” of the team guys get more term now than players like Dubois. Makes sense 🙃

Lol. Foligno is probably the most underrated guy in the league. He’d make more on the open market. Highly important player to the wild and a great deal imo.

Foligno is a good player, but it's still a tad too much given the role he plays. At least there's no form of trade protection, and he'll "only" be 32 when it ends.

On a team that has to extend Fiala and Kaprisov this offseason, this isn't gonna look great next offseason. Like he is a good role player, but Guerin should have waited to extend him.

I'm still ticked that Buffalo traded our hometown boy. Foligno has really excelled with Minnie and I'm glad to see him get paid what he deserves. He is amazing defensively and has surprising offence when given the chance. Such a hard working guy, great character on and off the ice. Marcus you are sorely missed in Buffalo!
